New Haven resident Qiyon “Gutter” Reed was arrested this week and charged with individual counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, U.S. Attorney John Durham announced.
According to the indictment, on Sept. 12, Reed was found to be in possession of a Heritage Manufacturing Stealth C-2000 nine-millimeter, semi-automatic handgun and a Smith & Wesson MP9 Shield nine-millimeter, semi-automatic handgun.
Durham noted that it is alleged that Reed sustained several felony convictions, including state convictions for possession and sale of narcotics, for carrying a dangerous weapon, and a federal conviction for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute heroin.
From October last year through September, Reed is also accused of possessing and distributing cocaine.
